Start an Audit

Run a technical crawl of any set of pages — from one URL to your entire sitemap.

Why it matters: Regular audits catch broken pages, weak metadata and slow templates before they cost rankings.

Before you start

  • A project (see Add Your First Website)

Step-by-step

  1. 1

    Pick the source

Choose Sitemap URL for full-site coverage or Manual URLs to audit specific pages — landing pages before a campaign, for example.

  2. 2

    Parse the list

Kleverish expands sitemap indexes automatically and shows the URLs it found.

  3. 3

    Create the report

Click Create Audit Report. The parallel crawler shows real-time progress; large sites take minutes, not hours.

Expected result

A fresh audit in the Pages table, persisted for future sessions.

Helpful tips

  • Re-run the same source after deploying fixes and compare issue counts.

Common mistakes

  • Auditing a staging URL that's blocked by robots or auth — crawl the public site, or unblock staging first.

Troubleshooting

The crawl seems stuck

Very slow pages can hold up their slot. Leave the tab open; parallel crawling continues. Persistent failures appear with an error status you can filter.
